We run courses for healthcare professionals including GPs, dental surgeries and physiotherapy clinics. Our courses can include specialist training including AED and bag-valve face masks.

The UK Resuscitation Council states that "healthcare organisations have an obligation to provide a high-quality resuscitation service, and ensure that staff are trained and updated regularly and with appropriate frequency to a level of proficiency appropriate to each individual's expected role".


Children are not small adults and our range of courses for those working with children recognise this fact.

The Paediatric First Aid course complies with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage document for children aged from birth to five.

Schools and nurseries are work-places for adults and so our adult first aid courses may also be suitable for you.

Keeps the First Aid at Work certificate valid and is held over 2 days (12 hours).  A current First Aid at Work certificate must be held – if your certificate has expired you must re-take the whole 3-day (18 hour) syllabus. A Re-qualification course can be completed no more than 3 months before or 28 days after the date of expiry on the current First Aid at Work certificate. No exceptions to this can be made. Content and assessment are as for the First Aid at Work (FAW) course and this includes Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.

Under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations of 1981 employers are required to provide "adequate and appropriate" equipment, facilities and personnel so that their employees can receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. These Regulations apply to all workplaces (including those with less than five employees and to the self-employed).

We run open courses at our training venue in Headingley, Leeds for individuals or small groups. If you need a larger number of staff members training then please contact us as we are able to arrange in-house training which can also be tailored to include an additional requirements that may be relevant to your business or workplace.

Mainstream course syllabuses can also be tailored to meet the requirements of a business or activity. Examples of this include:

  • An 8 hour course for a charity working with people with mental health problems – additions included many common medical conditions and issues around first aid for self harm incidents
  • A 4 hour course for a circus skills course concentrating on incident management and most likely injuries from those activities undertaken
  • 8 hour courses run for Yorkshire Dance for Dance practitioners – a full course outline can be viewed via the link on the First Aid for Dance course
  • Additions to the Emergency First Aid at Work course syllabus for various industries. For example the following additions were added for the following workplaces:
    – A printing firm: eye injuries and chemical burns
    – A decorating company who worked at heights: falls from heights related injuries and suspension trauma plus eye injuries
    – A construction firm: eye injuries, crush injuries (extended), burns (hot machinery on site), issues with falls
    – A short 2 hour first aid session was organised for single mums through a local charity to give them confidence in dealing with any accidents their small children may have.
  • A 2 hour course run for a family with a child recently diagnosed with Anaphylaxis
  • A 16 hour course for a local canoe club based on our popular Outdoor Incident Management First Aid course with additional modules for water based activities and canoeing specific scenarios.
  • An Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) for a local hotel with extra content for kitchen and waiting staff.
